Our philosophy is that you should only pay for the features you use. FL Studio is a modular environment where you choose the program functions and additional instrument/effect plugins that you need.
We do this by shipping FL Studio in three editions, each with more features and base plugin instruments/effects than the next. Then as an extension to these versions you can add in more instruments/effects and samples to suit your musical style or genre.
The FL Studio program hierarchy can be summarised as follows:

Express Edition is the entry level to FL Studio with Step Sequencer only editing. Great for percussion programming, simple melodies, bass-lines, riffs etc. It is ideally suited to loop creation, where you will use the audio in other programs or your composition needs are simple and limited to 64 step (16 bar) ‘loops’.
What you can do with Express edition
Express Edition can record and play a single pattern, of up to 64 steps. Each pattern can be comprised of an unlimited number of instruments (samples, native and VST instruments). The instruments in the pattern can be routed to the mixer for effects processing on a per-instrument or grouped basis. It is ideal for the loop-creator who uses these loops in another program.

Fruity Edition is aimed at composers who need Piano roll for complex melodies and to record/play chords. Fruity Edition adds access to the Playlist Pattern Clips for complex and lengthy arranging/sequencing and automation of program/plugin parameters.

Fruity edition, adds three very important features. 1. The Piano roll. 2. Event Automation. 3. The Playlist.

What you can do with Signature Bundle
Enhanced productivity. The addition of Maximus will make your final mix down process easier and have you putting out professional sounding masters in less time. The Fruity Video player will allow you to compose and synchronise your musical scores or foley to video. Directwave Sampler will allow you sample VST instruments and create your own multi-layer sample banks from any recordable instrument. Sytrus will round out your synthesis capabilities with a huge preset library and awesome range of sounds. Guitar players will appreciate Hardcore Guitar Effects Suite, but it’s also a bunch of generally useful effects pedals for any instrument, experiment!
Signature Bundle includes

Try before you buy!
We believe you should test everything FL Studio and plugins have to offer before you hand over any money, and for as long as you want. For that reason the download FL Studio installer gives you Signature Bundle plus most of our additional plugin instruments & effects in a single installer. So keep an eye on the features and plugins that you are using. If you are unsure, click on the feature/plugin and press the F1 key. The help will open and let you know what edition it’s included in (if at all). Demo limitations are few:
| You can save projects (for later when you buy FL Studio & plugins), record/render audio and use every feature and plugin in the installer has, if you had bought the lot.

| You can’t fully load projects you have saved until you purchase FL Studio and any extra-purchase plugins the demo project contain.

| It’s a single download. When you decide to buy, you have already downloaded every instrument you have demoed. Just get your registration key (a few kb) from your account and install it and those features and or plugins will be unlocked from the demo installer. It also means you can manage all your Image-Line software with a single registration key, easy!
