Plugin Delay Compensation (PDC) Made Simple

This is the first of two videos that will look at setting up PDC in FL Studio. PDC is required when plugins introduce unwanted, internal processing delays that causes their audio to g out of sync with the rest of the project.

In FL Studio 9, PDC setup has been made much simpler with the 'Create Submix to' function on the Mixer menu. When you use this function, the currently selected Mixer track 'steals' all the Mixer tracks that were routed TO the track you select from the menu. If you choose Master, then all tracks routed there go to the selected Mixer track, then you can add a PDC compensating delay to that track.

Edison Loop Recording (External Audio)

Loop recording is a great method when you want to repeat a section of a song, or even whole song, to get the perfect take. Edison will capture each loop around the section and add markers at the start and end of the take. All you need to do then is select the take you like and press Shift + C with Edison focused and it will be sent to the Playlist as an Audio Clip.

Audio Recording Playlist / Disk vocal recording

This tutorial discusses the Playlist / disk-based recording method. Here we record a female vocal over a project and discuss the settings and prerequisites to record audio. The recordings appear in the Playlist once captured.

The more technically correct term for this method is 'disk' recording, since the audio is saved to the hard-drive.

Next time we will look at Loop-Recording using Edison. The integrated audio editor and recorder.

The vocalist is Katy Theodossiou, we have uploaded a project with some ad-lib vocalisations, why not do your own remix of the track.
