As part of a series of articles addressing the gender imbalance on our social media forums/blogs we aim to interview some of our female customers. We recently caught up with Danyella (Lady XTC, Daniela Schmidt), an FL Studio user from Germany and asked about her journey so far:

Danyella / Lady XTC
Tell us about your 'I've Got The Love (Lady XTC [Danyella] Mix Edit)'
'I've Got the Love (Lady XTC Mix Edit)' is one of 4 dance tracks I've recently made for a Kate Lesing Compilation (iTunes, musicload), featuring Kate Lesing's vocals. I'm currently collaborating with new singers for exclusive vocals, new tracks are currently in production.
What was your first impression of FL Studio?
I was so impressed by the sequencer after I used it for the first time. I actually spent 2 days in a row without sleep as I was so hooked trying out all the features and possibilities. Even 2 years later, I'm still hooked, and I'm spending pretty much every free minute composing new tracks with it. I'm not using any other sequencer, FL Studio is my main DAW.
Tell us about your production environment?
I am working in a 'bedroom-studio-setting', meaning, I use basic equipment, such as MIDI Keyboards and Controllers, and a monitor station with monitor speakers and studio headphones. And FL Studio of course. That's really all needed nowadays, and that's the sweetness :) This would have been impossible long time ago, where everyone had to spend loads of money on a whole bunch of hardware. I feel totally comfortable with digital music production and would not want to go the old-fashioned hardware way.
We can hear a great dance/trance theme happening above, what styles do you produce?
I do produce pretty much everything covered by the Electronic Dance Music genre - such as Trance, Electro, Techno, and House. I also like mixing up different genres. I've been getting an overwhelming response on YouTube, with 500 new subscriptions in the past 4 weeks alone. I absolutely appreciate this positive feedback, as it is the most rewarding thing for me to see that people actually enjoy my music. I'm also on Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. All the contacts I've made so far - without FL Studio, I would have not gotten to this point.
