Arno Cost

Hello I’m Arno Cost, a French producer of electronic music.

Tell us about how you got into music ?

I started making music at 16. I remember listening to a lot of music through my parents when I was a kid. Everytime i heard tunes from people like Michael Jackson, Queen, Supertramp, I felt goosebumps. It was such a great feeling. Then, the idea to make people feel the same grew in my head. I decided to make my own music and bought a studio for my bedroom. I started with the first versions of Fruity Loops!

Tell us about your track ‘Strong’ you produced with with Norman Doray. It’s really melodic, we love the guitar in it. What was the thought process behind it?

At the beginning, we wanted to make a 2014 version of Apocalypse. And for the breakdown, we found the gimmick that we used in Strong. It was huge but not really fitting on the Apocalypse project. So we kept it for later because it was definitely worth doing another original track with it.

A few weeks later, we went back on that project again, and finished that STRONG track.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

A friend of mine actually had it on his computer. He invited me to his place one day and he showed me how it worked. It was like magic to me !! Honestly, with FL studio, everything is simple, intuitive but you can also push your mixing, your mastering, your editing very far. For me, it’s the best DAW.

Tell us about your production environment & toys?

I only use software, Dynaudio BM6A monitors, FL studio and VST plug ins like Sylenth, Nexus, Minimoog, Spire, Zebra and Korg!
