Tell us about yourself and how you got into music?
I am a music producer and singer-songwriter from Moscow, Russia. My musical path started when I was a kid. In 2001, at the age of thirteen I got a copy of Hybrid's Wide Angle into my hands at an open flea music market. This kind of music was really rare and unique for our country and I immediately felt in love with it. I realized that I wanted to make music. In that period of my life I faced lots of health issues and had to spend most of time at home. So that's how music became my only joy and gave me hope. I don't have a proper music education and I am a self-taught producer and musician.
Tell us about how did you end up making Acoustic music?
In 2011 I decided to change lots of things in my life and in my music as well. I decided to try my skills in writing and producing acoustic pop music. This kind of music provided a way for me to express my positive way of thinking and inspire more people with my sound. I truly believe that music can help people in overcoming all the hardships from day-to-day issues to major problems as it helps me. My first single Knock, Knock got into rotation on many radio stations all over the world in countries like Australia and New Zealand, United kingdom and Ireland, Austria and Belgium. That inspired me to produce a full-length album called "Hope Against Hope".
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?
I make all kinds of music from electronic to acoustic, from movie trailer to commercial music. I've tried working in other DAWs, but I've found that FL Studio suits me best and its intuitive yet powerful design can help you to create every kind of music in absolutely every genre, the only limitation is your imagination. I devoted a great part of my life to FL Studio and now it is my “headquarters” where I record, produce and master all my tracks. Music has always played in my head and FL Studio really helps me put it out from my brain into real world. The other thing I like about your software is that every time I need something you guys somehow manage to ship it in a new version whether it be Bridge, Live Mode or anything else. You always open to customers feedback and I really appreciate it.
Tell us about your production environment & toys?
I make music in my home studio. It's an ordinary room where I basically live too. I used to produce music using cheap SVEN computer speakers, but now I have a solid pair of MACKIE monitors and two pair of headphones from Sony and Audio-Technica to control mixing. My studio is almost hardware free and I tend to use software instead of hardware.
In terms of hardware I have a digital paino from Casio (Privia PX-130) plus an acoustic guitar. Vocals for my debut album was recorded with AKG C-214 with a reflection filter and I still use E-MU 0404 USB as my sound card, bought it around a hundred years ago. I also have a mic from Sennheiser for my live appearances. Well as you can see my setup is rather simple.
