Tell us about yourself and how you got into music?

My name is Chris Noxx, producer/composer/arranger and 1/4 of the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning songwriting & production team “Tha Piecemakerz”. I’m a JUNO-nominated (2020 Rap Recording of the Year) producer, composer, and arranger who has been featured on the global Billboard charts 12 times in the US and Canada (for my work on Bone Thugs and Harmony’s “New Waves”, Classified’s “Tomorrow Could Be The Day Things Change”, and Lloyd Banks’ “Fell in Love”) and I have been recognized with numerous awards in the UK, US, and Canada for my creative works. From scoring music for global advertising campaigns, TV shows, films, and sport associations (including Samsung, HBO, UFC, VH1, HEED, World Boxing Council, Amazon Web Services, Pizza Hut, 20th Century Fox, AGT, and American Express), to working with some of the most iconic Hip Hop artists of all time (including Dr. Dre, Chuck D (Public Enemy), KRS 1, RBX, The Outlawz, Nate Dogg, DJ Quik, Faith Evans, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Kurupt, B Real (Cypress Hill), Tory Lanez, Classified, Talib Kweli, Xzibit, Nipsey Hussle, Waka Flocka Flame, Lloyd Banks & Young Buck (G-Unit)), FL Studio is my go-to for all things creative.

Lloyd Banks – Fell in Love (prod. by Chris Noxx)

All my life I’ve loved music with immense passion — the feeling and energy made an impact on me early in life. When I graduated high school, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. At that time, I realized I had only a few true passions, and music was at the forefront of that list. I was curious about music: how it was made, how it was sold, Hollywood, and the chance to live a life most seem to chase but seldom attain.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

When I started back in ’04, I looked into different areas of music, and finally discovered which route was for me: the creation of the music and finding the melody. I needed to find an outlet to create with, and in the mid-2000s, production software became the medium of choice for so many of us who couldn’t afford studio time.

I did my research and found FL Studio. I thought I would start on FL Studio, learn the basics, and then invest in hardware, but that never happened because FL gave me everything I needed and more. It pushed me to get the big studio sound out of a desktop computer. I found myself glued to FL for days at a time, learning and trying to perfect how I use it. I’ve used FL Studio now for over 18 years, and continue to use it every single day — it is a part of me.
