Tell us about yourself and how you got into music?
My brother got me started. I find difficult to say exactly how old I was when I have started to listening to electronic music. I think I was around 9 years old. My brother listened to lot of tracks from Westbam, Scooter, Brooklyn Bounce, Darude and many many more so it just naturally influenced me. Also a lot of my friends were fans of this kind of music and I did not want to be different
Tell us about your recent successes.
My career has been kicked of for good in late 2013 with releases on Dutch label Be Yourself Music/High Contrast. After few singles they gathered support coming from the likes of Armin van Buuren (ASOT plays), Dash Berlin, Paul Oakenfold, Tritonal + major media presence (DJ Mag, Mixmag, Your EDM, EDM.com, etc) plus TV placement on the NCIS TV series (originally aired on CBS) among others.
Afterwards I had the opportunity to remix for Sied van Riel and Richard Durand on Black Hole Recordings and was part of Ushuaia Ibiza Summer Edition 2014 CD compilation released on Defected Records next to artists like Avicii, Sebastian Ingrosso, Mark Knight, etc. This is what was briefly happening in 2014 which is coming to its end. IT ensured me that I'm doing the right thing. Looking forward to 2015
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?
When I was 13 years old I started to mess around with those blocks in Dance eJay 2 (anyone remember this 'DAW'? hehehe!). Later I discovered Magix Music Maker (which was pretty much the same as eJay), then, during computer classes in my school I came across the Fruity Loops 3 demo, tried it and have kept using it till this day. Newer versions of course. I wasn't producing my own tracks at the beginning but doing some edits. It was great fun and a lot of sleepless nights;) since FL 5 I started to do own, original tracks and was discovering power of this DAW. Really love the pattern/clip set up. It's amazing how very simple and intuitive everything is. If I had to describe the FL in two words, I'd say "simplicity" and "speed"!
Tell us about your production environment & toys?
Generally the room where I sleep is also my studio. I've been using Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro headphones for 3 years as reference monitoring system and really love to work with them. Hard to believe maybe but I produce everything using my headphones.
Also I have KRK RP 5 studio speakers but rarely use them. Audio interface is RME Fireface UC – really love it! About my software toys I use Sylenth1 from LennarDigital and Spire from Reveal Sound a lot. Like to use a Xfer Serum for the basslines and Native Instruments' Massive. From plugins effects I really fell in love with Image Line's Effector and Vocodex.
I also use Stereo Shaper and Pitcher too in my projects. Generally, standard plugins from FL Studio are amazing enough to create professional sounding track from scratch till final result.
