Tell us about yourself & how you got into music?

Hey I’m Asher Postman. I release music under my real name cause I couldn’t think of anything else cool. When I was younger I recreated songs I liked on my cheap Casio keyboard just for fun, then when I was 14 I started making my own original songs and remixes. It was all just a hobby until one day I discovered Madeon’s music on Spotify. His productions completely blew my mind, and I decided from that moment on I wanted to make music that gives people the same feeling his music gives me. I pride myself in making productions that push the boundaries of sound and mixing. After 6 years of hard work and dedication, I’ve been able to release some original music and official remixes, as well as establishing a solid fan base on YouTube. I’m beyond excited to keep working hard and seeing where the future takes my career!

Tell us about who you love to serve?

I started uploading my music on YouTube like every other young music producer, but didn’t really get any traction at first. Until one day I realized I could use my sense of humor + production skills to get people’s attention. My first successful video was of me taking the sound of a peacock call and recreating the drop of DJ Snake’s song “Middle” with it. The video accumulated 200k+ views. I later released a video where I remixed a video clip of a kid on anesthesia called “Dubai Was Lit”, which currently has almost over 8m views. Since then I’ve made several viral remix videos, as well as highly viewed music production tutorials centered around FL Studio. My main goal with my YouTube channels is to market myself to as many people as I can so I can start pushing my original music to a larger crowd.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

I started making music on Mixcraft 6, but quickly learned that I was very limited with what I could do. I researched what my idols were producing with, and I found that FL Studio seemed to be the preferred software. It took me a minute to adjust to the unique layout, but I quickly fell in love with it. I have NEVER been limited using FL Studio, and am continuously blown away with how Image-Line seems to have literally thought of everything a producer could need in a DAW and more. The workflow is second to none, the free updates are a huge blessing, and the tech support is extremely prompt and helpful. I will always suggest FL Studio to anyone who asks what the best DAW is 🙂

Tell us about your production environment & toys?

Super simple. All I really need is a laptop and some headphones to make dope music cause everything I need is “in the box”. Although I do prefer to have a midi keyboard available. So far I’m just rocking Yamaha hs50 monitors with a Polk PSW10 Sub, Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones, Alesis V49 midi keyboard and Komplete Audio 6 interface. I recently upgraded my computer to a killer MSI gaming laptop that handles FL Studio beautifully, and also allows me to bring my studio wherever I want. Would highly suggest.
