Bizness Boi

GRAMMY-winning and multi-platinum-selling producer Bizness Boi has reached the heights of success as a music producer. Despite now having worked with legendary artists such as Elton John, Rihanna, and Eminem to name a few, and having earned a Billboard #1 album via Lil Baby’s “It’s Only Me”, the road hasn’t always been easy for the American producer. Having been homeless for a period prior to catching his break into the industry, Bizness Boi has since persevered to achieve milestones that most producers dream of. After his early experiments with MTV Music Generator on PlayStation (a common theme among our Power Users), we’re thrilled that he was introduced to FL Studio, and has stuck with it ever since. Read on to learn more about Bizness Boi and his story.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music.

I first got into music production at the age of 14, which is when I was introduced to the world of creating beats and sounds. It all started when my grandmother, who always supported my creative interests, bought me a game called “MTV Music Generator” for the PlayStation. This program, though simple by today’s standards, became my gateway into the world of music production. I spent countless hours experimenting with its interface, trying to figure out how to make melodies, drum patterns, and loops. I was hooked, and what started as a fun way to pass time quickly turned into a deep passion.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

In 2007, a close friend of mine (Prep Bijan), who had noticed my dedication, introduced me to FL Studio 7. This was a pivotal moment in my journey. FL Studio was a whole new world of possibilities, offering much more advanced features and flexibility than what I had before. It was at this point that I truly began to hone my craft and push my boundaries. The user-friendly interface and powerful capabilities of FL Studio allowed me to develop a more professional sound, and from that point forward, I was fully immersed in the world of music production. The rest, as they say, is history. What began as a fun hobby blossomed into a career, and my passion for music production has only grown since then.

Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with.

I have had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most influential and iconic names in the music industry today. My work has spanned across various genres, allowing me to contribute to projects alongside global superstars like Elton John, Rihanna, Summer Walker, Eminem, J. Cole, Lil Baby, Drake, 6LACK, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and many more. These collaborations have given me the opportunity to showcase my skills and creativity in ways that resonate with diverse audiences around the world. Whether it’s producing, writing, or contributing in other capacities, each of these experiences has shaped my approach to music and expanded my reach within the industry.

Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use.

I typically work from home, where I have set up a comfortable and efficient workspace to support my productivity. My desk is spacious and well-organized, providing ample room for all of my essential tools and equipment. The centerpiece of my setup is my Apple MacBook, which I rely on for most of my tasks, from managing my projects to handling all my creative work. To bring my music and audio production to life, I use the latest version of FL Studio, which allows me to craft and edit complex compositions. I also incorporate the FLkey 61 keyboard into my setup, making it easy to compose melodies and play virtual instruments. The combination of these tools provides an ideal environment for me to create, whether I’m producing music, mixing, or exploring new sounds.
