German producer geenaro has been tearing up the German charts and achieving global success with his productions as of late. He and collaborator Ghana Beats recently pulled back the curtain on how they produced Luciano’s “Beautiful Girl” in FL Studio, which at the time of this writing had recently eclipsed 120 million plays on Spotify. We’re excited to have geenaro as a Power User, and recently took the opportunity to learn a bit more about his background.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music.

My name is geenaro and I am an artist from Germany. Ever since I got my first keyboard as a gift in my childhood, I have become more and more interested in making music & sound design.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

I played on my keyboard whenever I was bored at home. It wasn’t really a good one, so, unfortunately, I could never save what I played. This made me search for a program on YouTube to make music on my computer. FL Studio looked easy to use, and I liked the pattern system. With FL Studio, I was finally able to save all my ideas and be creative, and I believe in never changing a working system!

Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with.

I work with artists from Europe & all over the world. Here in Germany, I have already worked with Luciano, Summer Cem, Shirin David, and many more. I’ve also worked with artists from other countries like Central Cee, Bia, Headie One, Aitch, Gazo, Ezhel & Murda, and there’s more to come!

Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use.

Simplicity is the key — that’s why I don’t need much. I trust my ears & flow with the vibe.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

My tip for FL Studio users: add a soft clipper on it and pop it!
