K-391 (Kenneth Nilsen) is one of those producers that we received lots of emails about adding him to the power user page. We checked out his social media and there he was quietly racking up millions of views for his music videos, we had to learn more…
I think it all started when I was about 5 years old, and I heard this dance song on the radio. It wasn’t like the usual stuff, with guitar and piano. There was something different which I really loved. I started listening to the radio daily to find similar tracks. Some years later I started going to piano lessons, but quit after a year because it was to boring. I mostly listened to techno/trance, and over the years I just fell more and more in love with electronic dance music.
Tell us about how you got into music ?
I first got into creating music in high school. I had a deep love for hip hop music and freestyle battling so I chose to pursue it professionally.
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?
When I was around 14 I wanted to start making these techno/trance songs myself. So I began looking for a way to do it, and boom, I found Fl Studio. After a year I started posting tracks. There was no feedback to be given, but I didn’t quit and started posting for another year. Then I released a song called “Electro House 2012” which passed 500 K in just some weeks. That was my key to start producing seriously.
Tell us about your production environment & toys?
I have a small studio in Norway. With beautiful landscapes surrounding, which makes me focus. I use a pair of Q12 Equator speakers (absolutely sick), and for headphones I use Audio Technica ath-m50 monitor headphones. My computer is a MSI ge70, and I use a iRig keyboard for easy melody making. Lastly I have connected a Forte Focusrite soundcard, for extreme quality.
