Matroda has steadily made waves over the past several years with his top-notch bass-driven House music, playing major festivals and venues all over the world. Despite this success, his persona is quite secretive, so we were pleased when he agreed to share a bit about his background with us.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music. My name is Matija, a.k.a. Matroda, and I’m a 25-year-old producer coming from Croatia, currently based in Los Angeles. My first contact with electronic music was through my brother. He was a huge fan of dance music and he involved me in it as well. I started to learn to play piano and started by making song arrangements on my first music software/game on Playstation One. |

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? FL Studio was my first professional DAW. I discovered some Youtube tutorials and fell in love with the software. I never tried any other DAW because FL was really quick and simple for me to use and helped me make beats very quickly.
