While he’s had a slew of credits in Hip Hop, Menace, based in the UK, is best known as the producer of Desiigner’s massive 2015 platinum-selling hit “Panda”. He’s been using FL Studio since day one, so we wanted to hear more about his background and production setup.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music.

I got into music at a very young age around 13. I remember in high school hearing all these different types of music playing and the beats really intrigued me. I used to have a PlayStation Portable where I used to download only instrumentals to listen to. My dad was also a big inspiration for me since he was the one who actually introduced me to music. Then Desiigner “Panda” happened and you know my life changed completely after that.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

I first learnt about Fl Studio when I was 13 years old; I’m 27 now. I remember searching on YouTube in 2007 for how to make beats and that’s when I first saw Fl Studio. I saved up my pocket allowance over a few months and bought the basic edition. I practiced on there & the rest is history.

Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with.

I’ve worked with a lot of big artists in the industry such Kanye West, Desiigner, KSI, NBA Youngboy, Nines, Mario, Future, etc.

Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use.

I basically used my PC, MacBook, and of course FL Studio to make beats. I’ve only relied on FL Studio for the duration of my career.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

I just want to say thanks to Image-Line for making a dream of mine and many other producers come true. Something as user-friendly & powerful as FL Studio has made music somewhat enjoyable to make. I’m looking forward to what FL Studio brings next to the table.
