Raymix is an absolute force coming out of Mexico. Not only has he produced a diamond-certified (10x platinum) record, he’s created his own genre which he calls ElectroCumbia. The numbers of fans and plays received by his music are staggering, and we relished the opportunity to learn more about his background.

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music.
I started producing when I was 17 years old. My dad had a Latin music band. I learned at home and then started on my own by watching music production tutorials.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?
A friend told me about Fruity Loops which was the name of FL Studio at that time. In the beginning, I learned slowly because I was used to another DAW but with time I started liking it more and more.
Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with.
I make a type of music I call ELECTROCUMBIA, which is basically a fusion between traditional Cumbia and the essence of electronic music. I have worked with Latin superstars like Paulina Rubio, Juanes, J Balvin. Also, a song written, performed, and co-produced by me was played by Armin Van Buuren in 2013 in his ASOT 608 and 609.
Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use.
I work with a 65 inch 4K OLED display on top, a 15 inch LED 4K display below, Windows 11 MSI Desktop PC with 12 TB Storage (to store all my mess haha), 2 Mackie studio monitors, 1 M-Audio 61 key controller, a Yamaha (my sponsor) digital piano, a Fireface UCX interface, an AKG C214 microphone, and a home-made studio table, all inside a 3 x 3 meter isolated room.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I appreciate being considered as a Power User of the DAW that has accompanied me since my very beginnings, and I want to say that I love FL Studio because it is so fluid, easy, powerful, and the animations are beautiful.
