Trauma Tone
Hailing from Charlottesville, VA, platinum-selling producer Trauma Tone has had a major hand in developing the sound for today’s biggest hip-hop wave, working with artists like Migos, Curren$y, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Chief Keef, and countless others. He’s also been using FL Studio since day one, so we were interested to hear more about his career and experience with the DAW.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? I have been using FL since I got into making beats in 2002. I got into producing early on by watching my cousin make beats — once I saw him cooking up on there I went and bought a copy of it and locked myself in the lab. FL Studio has been the only DAW I have used to make beats since I started, so at this point, it is second nature to me.

Trauma Tone – Multi-Platinum Producer
Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with. I’ve worked with a lot of artists over the years including, NBA YoungBoy, Migos, Money Man, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, etc. I have received a lot of accolades and plaques as well. It’s hard to put a label on my sound but I feel I know how to tap into whichever artist’s vibe I’m working with and add my twist to their sound.
Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use. My production environment varies because I’m making beats anywhere such as studios, Airbnb’s, or setting up somewhere random like the beach and catching a vibe. As for the gear, it depends on the situation. I like to use the Akai Max25 keyboard; that’s my new favorite tool to use. Speaker-wise, I like the Yamahas and KRKs
Is there anything else you would like to tell us? Check out my latest project with Curren$y titled “Highest in Charge”
