Tell us about yourself and how you got into music?
My name is Chris Noxx, producer/composer/arranger and one 1/4 of the Multi Platinum, Grammy Award Winning Songwriting & Production team "Tha Piecemakerz". I've produced records for such artists as Talib Kweli, Young Buck, DJ Quik, Seether's Shaun Morgaun, Dr Dre ,Ras Kass,Jae millz, Nipsey Hussle, Ya Boy, Bishop Lamont and many more.
All my life I've loved music with immense passion, the feeling and energy made an impact on me early in life. When I was graduating high school I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I realized I had but only a few true passions, and music was at the fore front of that list. I was curious about music, how it was made, how it was sold, hollywood, and the chance to live a life most seem to chase better seldom attain.
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?
When I started back in 04, I looked into different areas of music, and finally understood what was for me, and that was the creation of the music, and finding the melody. I needed to find an outlet to create, and In the mid 2000's production software became the medium for so many of us who couldn't afford studio time.
I did my research and found FL studio. I thought to start on FL, learn the basics and invest into hardware, but that never happend, FL gave me everything I needed and more. It pushed me to get the big studio sound out of a desktop computer. I found myself glued to FL studio for days at a time, learning and trying to perfect how I use it. Ive used FL for 10 years, and continue to use it every single day, it is apart of me.
Tell us about your production environment & toys?
I work out of my studio "TMG", located in the downtown business district of my hometown Halifax. We have a beautiful three studio room complex, with lounge, kitchen, recption area and Offices spread out over 2300sq ft. We have a staff of runners aswell. We've got every damn pre amp and piece of gear you can think of in our our office tower, it truly is nerd heaven. We're looking into purchasing a big boy board this year for our main room, and adding some more funky ambience.
