Tell us about yourself & how you got into music?

Getting into music happened organically. I always loved singing and fortunately had the support of family and friends. I started winning local contests, one thing led to the next and I started producing records as well because I had too many musical ideas that needed to be brought to life. Then when I actually got paid to perform for the first time, I realized this is what I wanted to do for a living. In 2017, I had the opportunity to do a full soundtrack for a mainstream Bollywood film – which was a dream that came true.  I have the best job in the world so every moment in this journey is a blessing.

Tell us about your sound.

I do Urban-Bollywood music. I have had the pleasure and honour of working with some of the biggest names in the Bollywood music industry as well as mainstream artists such as Sean Kingston, Kardinal Offishall etc. I started my career making Hip Hop and Reggae beats, then went on to make music for Bollywood Films, then did 3 fusion albums that combined Indian music with Reggae, Hip Hop, Dancehall and EDM and my next album has a Bollywood-Trap “BollyTrap” sound. I truly believe music has no boundaries and being Indo-Canadian my influences are from the East and West at the same time and that is reflected in my music.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

Although I was first introduced to FL Studio back in 2007 by Boi-1da, I stuck with Cubase and then moved to Logic later. I saw 1da and numerous other producers drop hits after hits working on FL Studio over the years and knew I had to give it a shot too lol but was always under the impression that it was a PC only software. Only recently did I discover there was a native Mac version and have been messing around with FL Studio since. I am totally feelin the experience. It is super easy to manipulate audio and with an insane number of built in plugins, synths and sounds, it is really easy to get creative very quickly. FL Studio is now my go-to DAW for getting new beat ideas down quickly.

Tell us about your production environment & toys?

I used to be big on hardware but being on the move constantly, my setup now is almost completely “in-the-box”. Macbook Pro + Apollo Twin + Neumann TLM-102 Mic and the rest is all software/virtual. Currently 50/50 between FL Studio & Logic and since I’m huge on audio manipulation, I tend to grab every synth, plugin and sound pack that I can get my hands on just so I have enough choices to pick from. In the music game, things are constantly evolving to it is important to stay current with sounds and technology. Having said that my fav toy is still my Roland F-140R digital piano that I can jam with when I’m home!
