FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions? Answers.

FL Cloud is an add-on subscription for FL Studio. It gives you access to a large sample library of royalty-free sounds, third-party plugins, and FLEX Packs, plus tools to help you master and release your music. FL Cloud is built into FL Studio as an integrated service.
What’s included depends on your plan. Plus and Pro are paid plans, giving you access to the full sample library, as well as more third-party plugins and additional services.

You can see what’s included in each plan here.
A sample library is a collection of sounds you can use in your music, such as drums, instruments, loops, and effects.
Yes. You can use the samples in your music without paying extra fees or royalties.
You can find the FL Cloud sample library in the “Sounds” tab of the FL Studio browser.
FL Studio is a complete DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It's a music production software where you build beats, record, arrange, and mix your songs.

FL Cloud is an optional subscription service that adds extra sounds, plugins, presets, mastering and distribution tools inside FL Studio.
No. FL Studio works on its own. FL Cloud is optional and only adds extra content and tools.
When your subscription ends:

  • You lose access to FL Cloud paid products, features, and services

  • Samples you downloaded or used in projects stay available for use
Plugins can’t be used, but can be reactivated for 24 hours, up to 5 times, if you need them again

  • FLEX Packs will still play audio in projects, but the interface will be locked

  • DistroKid access continues until the end of your billing period
Yes. You can use FL Cloud on any computer where you log into FL Studio.
FL Cloud plugins can be installed on up to three computers. If you install on a fourth, the oldest installation will be deactivated.
We’re always adding new sample packs to FL Cloud, with new packs added daily.
Yes, we regularly add new plugins to FL Cloud at no extra cost. As a subscriber, you get access as soon as they're available. We'll notify you by email when new plugins are added.
If you don’t cancel before the free trial ends, your paid FL Cloud plan will start automatically and your card will be charged. You’ll receive an email reminder before the trial ends.
If a plugin is no longer supported, we’ll keep the last available version for you for as long as the developer allows it.
Some plugins require an email opt-in for access from their developers. You can unsubscribe from their emails at any time directly via the partner’s website.
Some plugins require their own installer and activation process through the developer’s own system. You’ll be given a serial number inside FL Cloud to use with their installer.
FL Cloud’s system requirements are the same as for FL Studio, so if your computer runs FL Studio, it’ll run FL Cloud.
You need an internet connection to browse, preview, and download sounds. After you add sounds to your projects, you can use them offline.

You also need an internet connection to install FL Cloud plugins.
Yes. You can see the full list of plugins included in your FL Cloud plan here.

    What is FL Cloud?

FL Cloud is a suite of third-party content and services, deeply integrated in FL Studio to enhance your creativity and workflow. It includes royalty-free samples, AI-powered mastering, music distribution to all major streaming platforms, and instruments and effects plugins from popular brands.

What is the difference between FL Cloud Pro, Plus, and Free?

FL Cloud Free is available to every FL Studio user - giving you access to 25,000+ royalty-free loops and samples, 9 plugins.

FL Cloud Plus is a paid plan giving you access to over 1 million royalty-free loops and samples, 17 instrument and effects plugins, enhanced AI-powered mastering features, plus access to music distribution from Distrokid.

FL Cloud Pro is our biggest paid plan, giving you access to everything in Plus, as well as access to over 90 additional instrument and effects plugins, and FLEX Packs.

Is FL Studio included with FL Cloud subscriptions?

No. FL Studio is not available on subscription. If you buy any Edition of FL Studio as part of your purchase you will get one free month of FL Cloud Pro. If you decide not to subscribe to a paid FL Cloud plan, you can continue to use FL Cloud Free.

Does FL Cloud require a subscription?

Every FL Studio user has access to FL Cloud Free, with a limited set of features and sounds, even if you’re only using an FL Studio trial. For those who want more, there are monthly and annual FL Cloud subscriptions offering the full range of sounds, services, and features.

So FL Cloud is an add on to FL Studio?

FL Cloud adds extra features and services to FL Studio, including additional instrument and effects plugins, music distribution, AI-powered mastering and a huge integrated sound library. It’s all part of the same family.

    I’m on FL Studio 20.8 – why don't I see FL Cloud?

You need to update! to the latest version of FL Studio. Your Lifetime Free Updates always lets you get the latest features.

Can I use my plugins and sounds when my trial ends?

Any sounds you downloaded during your trial remain available for redownload, no matter whether you then subscribe or not.

And, of course, every FL Studio user who doesn’t subscribe at the end still gets FL Cloud Free, with 15,000 sounds, basic AI mastering, and 10 plugins.

What happens to my plugins and sounds if I cancel a subscription?

You keep all features until the end of your current monthly or annual subscription period.

Then, even if you stop subscribing, every sound you downloaded as a subscriber will remain available to redownload for as long as you need.

Not only that, but we’ll let you reopen and edit all your previous subscription plugins five more times, for 24 hours each time. This means you can reopen old projects using those plugins in the future.

How many machines can I use my plugins on?

There’s a limit of three machines. Any new machine installations will overwrite the oldest machine activation on your account.

Are the plugins supported in other DAWs?

Opening plugins in alternative DAWs will work, however if there are authorization issues with the plugin related to your FL Cloud subscription (e.g. end of trial, end of subscription, change in FL Cloud plan) there will be no error information displayed unless opening the plugins in FL Studio.

What are the minimum system requirements for the FL Cloud Plugins application?

FL Cloud minimum system requirements are the same as FL Studio.

What happens when my trial ends?

At the end of an FL Cloud Pro trial, existing monthly or annual subscribers to FL Cloud will continue as FL Cloud Plus subscribers while non subscribers will be moved to FL Cloud Free.

After your trial, you will not be able to open any FL Cloud Pro-only plugins without subscribing to FL Cloud Pro.

    Will new plugins be added?

We plan to add new plugins to the paid tiers of FL Cloud.

What about additional presets for my FL Cloud plugins?

We don’t currently offer additional presets as part of FL Cloud, but it’s something we’re looking at.

What happens if a new version of a plugin is released by a manufacturer?

We always aim to offer you the latest version of plugins included within FL Cloud. When new versions are released to us, we will make them available in the FL Cloud Plugins app as soon as possible.

If a new version is backwards compatible, it will be offered as an update in the app. If it is not backwards compatible it will appear as a separate new plugin.

What happens if a manufacturer stops selling or supporting a product?

The last version of the plugin will normally remain available for existing users, with ongoing support subject to the developer’s policy. This excludes plugins where the developer requests that the plugin be removed. Normally this should not be the case.

What is the Project Rescue policy?

Even if you cancel a subscription, we think it’s essential that you can still open projects made with plugins which you are no longer subscribed to.

So even after your subscription ends you can reopen and edit all your previous subscription plugins five more times, for 24 hours each time. This means you can reopen old projects using those plugins in the future.

Please note – this policy only applies to lapsed paid subscriptions, not to plugins used during your trial.

Why am I asked for my email address to download some plugins?

In return for free access in perpetuity to some third party plugins, some partners require a mandatory marketing email opt in. The email address provided to the partner company is the one associated with your FL Cloud account. Once subscribed, you can instantly download the plugin and you are free to unsubscribe directly via the partner company if you so wish.

Why can’t I fully install some plugins directly from the FL Cloud Plugins app?

Some of our third-party partners require you to install and authenticate their products via their own plugin manager application. In these instances, you are provided with a unique serial number inside the FL Cloud Plugins app, which should be used to authenticate the plugin from the partner’s plugin manager, following the in-app instructions provided. For issues with plugin installation and authentication of these plugins, please contact the partner company’s support team directly.

What are the minimum system requirements for the plugins included in FL Cloud?

The system requirements of plugins with FL Cloud will always mirror those of FL Studio.
