FL Studio Editions & Features

Purchase FL Studio and plugins in our Shop. Compare all FL Studio Editions on the comparison page.

In terms of core program functions and features, there are two editions of FL Studio Fruity Edition and Producer Edition. All higher 'Editions' are Producer Edition plus more plugins (instruments, effects or tools).

Where the following badges appears next to the page title it means the feature or plugin is included starting from that Edition, or may be purchased separately.

All Plugins Edition – The feature or plugin is included with FL Studio All Plugins Edition or may be purchased separately. All Plugins Edition includes all native plugins and continues to receive new ones at no extra cost (with some exceptions – here’s why).
Signature Bundle and up – Included with Signature Bundle & All Plugins Edition or available separately. Signature Bundle adds a curated set of premium plugins to Producer Edition.
Producer Edition and up – Included with Producer Edition, Signature Bundle & All Plugins Edition or available separately. Provides full Playlist functionality, Audio Recording, Automation Clips, Slicex, Edison, and more.
Fruity Edition and up – Included with Fruity Edition, Producer Edition, Signature Bundle & All Plugins Edition. NOTE: If a feature does not have an Edition tag, it is likely included in Fruity Edition. Fruity Edition is aimed at users who need the Piano roll and Pattern Clips in the Playlist for sequencing, but don’t need more than 8 Audio Clips or audio recording.

NOTES: 1. When a plugin is 'included' with Fruity, Producer Edition or Signature Bundle, this refers to the native version of the plugin. 2. Please see the feature comparison list on the FL Studio website for a detailed comparison of each Edition and Bundle. 3. You may upgrade from one Edition to the next at any time (check the shop for upgrade pricing).

What's FL Studio TRIAL mode?

The FL Studio TRIAL is functionally equivalent to the FL Studio Edition you select at startup.

If you’re using FL Studio in Trial mode, here are some key points:

  1. Exporting - You can render to .wav, .mp3 .ogg or .mid files prior to saving a Trial project while in any Trial Edition.
  2. Project Saving - You can save your projects while in Trial.
  3. Project Reopening - You won’t be able to reopen those saved projects until you purchase FL Studio.

Plugins in Trial Mode (not included in your Edition)

Trial Plugin Limitations - Even if you own an FL Studio Edition, that does not mean all the plugins installed with it are included in your Edition. We provide them, so you can test them and decide if you think they are valuable to you. The following applies when your project includes instruments or effects not included in your Edition. You will need to purchase those plugins separately or upgrade your Edition.

  1. SAVING PROJECTS WITH TRIAL PLUGINS – When saving a project that contains instrument or effect plugins in Trial mode, FL Studio will display a pop-up listing the affected plugins. If the project is saved in this state, any Trial plugins will be replaced with empty Channels/FX Slots the next time the project is opened. Plugins purchased and unlocked before reopening the project will load with their original settings intact.

  2. WARNING – Projects saved while using Trial plugins store a reference to each original plugin so they can be restored after purchase. However, if you open a project containing Trial plugins and then re-save it before unlocking those plugins, all settings for the Trial plugins will be lost!
  3. FL CLOUD - Is included free with all FL Studio Editions. You can also add a Subscription to higher levels of FL Cloud (Plus and Pro) to add more additional features. FL Cloud subscriptions don't provide an FL Studio license and so won't unlock FL Studio from Trial. However, if you want you can subscribe to FL Cloud while FL Studio is Trial Mode and render projects to audio. Please visit FL Cloud FAQ for more information.
