Welcome Window – Updated design to make options clearer for both Licensed and Trial users. Creative tools are on the left side, recent projects on the right. Gopher down the bottom.
Gopher – Significantly improved ability to create Piano roll Scripts. Just ask questions like – “Create a Piano roll script to transpose every second note under the control of a knob” and paste the result in a new .pyscript file under …Documents > Image-Line > FL Studio > Settings > Piano roll scripts.
Sounds Tab – Search now includes ‘Find similar samples‘ under the ‘three dots’ menu to the right of samples in the list.
Communications Panel – All Tabs (News, Downloads, Notifications, Help and Gopher) are now resizable.
Keyboard Shortcuts – Mute only Channels visible in the Channel Rack when using the top-row number keys (above the letters).
Loading Projects – Samples are loaded in multiple threads while opening a project, improving load times.
General settings – ‘Disable plugin keyboard focus by default‘ option in the Miscellaneous panel to disable plugin keyboard focus by default and ‘Limit the number of open plugin editors‘ to 25. Avoids issues with excessive CPU usage when more than 25 plugin editors are open in the background.
Tools Menu – Many items from Tools (menu) > Macros are now also available in the menu of the related feature or window.
VST Support – Improved compatibility with projects where a VST3 version of a plugin replaces a VST2. More parameters will now load correctly where there were issues.
Sounds Tab – Search now includes ‘Find similar samples‘ under the ‘three dots’ menu to the right of samples in the list.
Channel Rack:
Channel Sampler – Now includes Loop Start/End controls and a more advanced sample preview window with Zoom/Scroll controls. Hold (Shift) to move Loop Start and End together. Either knob is fine to use.
Loop Starter – Added 6 new genres – Afrobeats, Boom Bap, Lo-Fi, Phonk, Reggaeton & Trance. There’s now a Key control and ‘Find similar samples‘ available on (Right-Click) of Dice icons opening the Sounds Tab (FL Cloud) in the Browser. Search uses Key, rhythm and tone to better refine selections. ‘Group playlist tracks created by Loop starter‘ Group tracks when sent to Playlist. Additionally ‘Always create a track for the pattern clip‘ will create an Instrument Track even when no Step Channels were used.
6 new genres – Afrobeats, Boom Bap, Lo-Fi, Phonk, Reggaeton, and Trance.
Key – Located on the top menu, to match your Project Key or just explore different moods.
Find similar samples – (Right-Click) Dice icons. This will open a selection of similar samples in the Browser’s Sounds Tab (FL Cloud). Search considers Key and Tags to refine results. Drag the samples back onto the desired Loop Starter Channel.
Group playlist tracks created by Loop Starter – Channel Rack menu option groups Tracks when sent to the Playlist.
Always create a track for the pattern clip – Channel Rack menu option ensures an Instrument Track is created even Step Channels don’t have active steps.
Piano roll:
Velocity Editor – Improved responsiveness when making quick swipe-edits to note velocity. No more missed velocities.
Scores – Include the Channel name in the File name when a Piano roll score preset is dragged out.
Playlist:
Clip Variants – Audio Clips now show the Clip variant‘s pitch offset in the Audio Clip’s hint.
Extract Stems – The Extract Stems popup adds an option to route each Stem to a separate Mixer Track.
Mixer:
Track Management – Option ‘Trim unused tracks’ now offers to delete unused Mixer Tracks that have effects slots with effects loaded.
Patcherizing FX – New FX slot menu items ‘Patcherize‘ and ‘Patcherize all‘ to convert plugins to Patcher instances. A great way to start again when your FX stack is full.
New Plugins:
Emphasizer – Lite version of the Emphasis Loudness maximizer. Included in all Editions.
Fruity Slicer 2 – Simple sample slicing updated. Included in all Editions.
Updated Plugins:
Emphasis – New ‘Instant Recovery’ mode for even more loudness and ‘DC Block’.
DirectWave – You can now hold (Ctrl+Alt) to move Root Notes along with Zones.
