Tape Stop

Tape Stop allows you to experiment with mechanical audio formats like tape or vinyl, where playback slows down or speeds up as the drive is engaged or disengaged while playing, or a finger is applied to the tape reel or vinyl record.

NOTE: To start and stop the effect you need to activate and deactivate the 'Play' button as indicated above. To load presets tap the 'Default' (upper right) and choose from the Presets List.

Parameters

  • Start Time - The slider to the left side of the left tape reel allows you to change the time it takes playback to start. When Sync is selected Start Time will be in Tempo units - Beats, Bars, Notes.
  • Sync - Switch left for Start & Stop time in ms, right for time measured in tempo units.
  • Play - Press Play for the start-up effect and deselect it for the Stop effect. NOTE: Audio will be muted on the track while Play is deselected. The project needs to be playing for Tape Stop to work, it acts on real-time audio, not like a sample player. TIP: Automate the Play button in your project so you can precisely control the timing of the effect.
  • Warp - Changes the start and stop inertia. Slide left for a quicker initial change (speed change is decelerating) or right for a slower initial change (speed change is accelerating).
  • Stop Time - The slider to the left side of the left tape reel allows you to change the time it takes playback to stop. When Sync is selected Start Time will be in Tempo units - Beats, Bars, Notes.
