TROUBLESHOOTING

Troubleshooting FAQ

This section gives you the tools to answers common questions and problems that may occur while working in FL Studio. Please, read this carefully before posting about problems in the tech-support message board. regardless of the problem, we have found three main things resolve the majority of user issues -

  1. Make sure your settings (F10) are correct. There is a setup wizard in this help-file to guide you through the basic steps if this area of the program is new.
  2. Reset FL Studio settings, this can solve many, seemingly impossible to solve, problems and works by clearing erroneous or corrupt setup-data.
  3. Perform a clean installation. If all else fails, this often does the trick. We also recommend to stay on top of updates, and always using the Latest official release of FL Studio, and are not using an unsupported Operating System (system requirements can be found in the FL Studio download page).

Known bugs & limitations:

  • AU, CLAP & VST plugins can crash on any DAW software. Just because a plugin works on one DAW doesn’t mean it’s FL Studio’s fault if it crashes here. Plugins might crash randomly after being loaded, asked to do something unexpected, or because they contain bugs that only manifest in FL Studio. Sometimes, it seems they crash because a field full of cows at your nearest dairy have aligned and are all facing Northwest.

If plugins crash, start by check the Wrapper & FL Studio settings to improve stability. We will investigate failures if you report them to Tech Support (Windows or macOS).

Please note that plugins are independent programs running their own code, and their behavior is largely out of our control. It’s all care and no responsibility here at Image-Line with respect to the plugins (AU, CLAP & VST) you run inside FL Studio. Always remember to report crashes to the plugin developers - They can't fix what they don't know about.
