Tell us about how you got into music ? I’ve always been into music ever since I was a little kid, throwing shows for my family singing and playing fake instruments. I got into production when I was about 13 when a friend of mine in school showed me a mashup of electro tracks he made, I thought that I could do the same thing and started experimenting in FL Studio. After playing around for a while I started making hiphop stuff, exploring the (then) big hiphop Youtube-community. After a couple of years I had grown tired of hiphop and moved on to a genre that has always been close to my heart: dance music. Tell us about your latest projects? Well I just released a happy uplifting house collaboration called “Hands of Time” on the label Monstercat. I produced it with my friend Rich Edwards in FL Studio and the vocals are by Jonny Rose. I’m really proud of it and the support has been awesome so far! Me and Rich have a lot of new collab-tracks coming up so really look out for that, we work so well together!

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? It was quite easy getting started in FL Studio, all through my childhood I had to learn a lot of computer-stuff by myself cause I don’t have any older siblings so I’ve gotten used to learning stuff on my own. Through a lot of experimentation and YouTube-tutorials I got the hang of FL after a few months, although I still learn new tricks every day! I’ve tried other DAWs, but none have suited me like FL Studio, it’s something about it. Tell us about your production environment & toys?
I work in a studio in Stockholm with a stationary PC and everything “in the box”. I use Beyerdynamics DT 990 headphones, a pair of KRK Rokit 8’s, a pair of Yamaha HS5’s and a pair of Yamaha HS8’s monitors, they are great together since they all have their strengths. I record vocals with a SE 2200a mic that goes straight into my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2. Do you have any links you would like to share? youtube.com/user/TheOfficialHellberg Hellberg 😀
