I am LeriQ (aka Eric Utere) and I’m a music producer from Akwa-ibom state, Nigeria. I fell in love with music when I started hanging out in the studio with my dad and his musician friends when I was younger. How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? I heard about FL Studio in Yahoo’s messenger chat room and I downloaded a trial version and jumped in (had prior experience with Cakewalk). It was a simplified version of what I needed. FL Studio is everything to my production because I can get really creative intuitively and achieve almost anything I want to do. Tell us about your work and some of the artists you worked with? As a producer I try to stand out with my production by not following the wave but rather creating them. Some artists I’ve working with include :

Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use? I like to keep it simple in the first stages of production (laptop, headphones, mini mpc) to get the idea down. Then move into the studio to improve on it. My gear includes: iMac, Universal audio (Aollo twin) soundcard, behringer Motor49 keyboards, M – audio BX8 monitors , Krk4 reference monitors and King FL Studio. Is there anything else you would like to tell us? I didn’t know how to export audio on FL Studio when I first got it, so I had to pay an engineer to do it and I was standing behind him watching him export it, that’s how I learnt how to export on FL Studio (felt stupid for spending money on that, but I learnt how to do it) lol.
