Maddix
Tell us about yourself and how you got into music? Hi there, I’m Pablo Rindt also known as Maddix, a dj and producer from the Netherlands. As a kid I grew up with music because my mom teaches the djembe, an African drum. There was always music present in my home. I have played a few instruments like djembe, piano and drums. In high school I got interested in Dance music and a friend introduced me to FL Studio so I started making my own! How you got in touch with a big record label like Revealed? In 2014 I started fresh with a new name, Maddix. First I did a few free downloads to gain some social media traction. From a friend I received the email address of Spinnin’ Records and this got me my first release. From there on it just went by itself and I eventually got asked to send all my stuff to Revealed because they really liked it. I have now released 5 tracks on Hardwell’s label and plan on continue doing so for sure! Their support is great and it’s amazing to see your music being played on the biggest events in the world. |
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? As I said a friend of mine introduced me to FL Studio and I haven’t stopped since. I didn’t even know other DAWs back then. I still remember the first times I worked in FL Studio, it had so many features and it was great to try and figure everything out. During the years I have tried out some other DAWs but always came back to FL. Reasons for me are the intuitive workflow, completely free form playlist & mixer (I can’t imagine having to put all separate sounds in a new channel / track), the piano roll and automation. It just works so quick! Even now I sometimes explore new features to improve my workflow. Version 12 especially was a huge update with the mixer coloring and made FL Studio much more organized for me. Everything in my tracks is done in FL Studio, from composing to mastering. Tell us about your production environment & toys? My studio actually also is my bedroom. I have treated it acoustically with a lot of basstraps & panels. I’m currently using Focal CMS65 as speakers (love them!), a Focusrite 6i6 sound card and a brand new PC. I recently upgraded to a 4k 40inch monitor and the workspace you get with that is insane. I can always see the full mixer, channels and almost the whole playlist. All sounds I do are from softsynths, mainly Serum, Nexus, Spire and Sylenth1. Do you have any links you would like to share?
