PLUSS is the brilliant Grammy winner and multi-platinum selling producer behind some of the biggest hits of our time from artists like Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Rae Sremmurd… and the list goes on. We were delighted to learn that FL Studio has always been his DAW of choice, and wanted to learn more about his experience. Check out our interview with him below!

Tell us about yourself and how you got into music. I used to rap with my childhood friend when we were 13. We didn’t have any beats so we used his beat machine, piano & a cheap mic to make our own music.
How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions? I saw my childhood friend pull up a program on his computer where he could make beats and I asked him, “What is that?” He told me it’s a program called FL Studio, so I went home and downloaded it on my mom’s computer and it’s been on ever since!

Tell us about your work and some of the artists you have worked with. Well, my first placement (also my first hit) was a song by Lil Wayne featuring Future and Drake called “Love Me”. I also produced “No Flex Zone” & “Come Get Her” for Rae Sremmurd, Beyoncé “Formation”, Kendrick Lamar “Humble”, Dreamville’s “Down Bad” ft. J. Cole, JID, Bas, Earthgang & Young Nudy, and Dreamville’s “Under The Sun” ft. J. Cole, Da Baby & Lute West.
Tell us about your production environment and the gear you use. I use a Razer laptop with a UAD Arrow audio interface and a pair of Yamaha HS8’s.
