Julian Jordan

My name is Julian Dobbenberg (AKA Julian Jordan).

Tell us about how you got into music ?

I got into music on a very young age. My parents sent me to a music school when I was 5. This was every wednesday and every kid was able to discover a lot of instruments. I was in love with drumming (I followed lessons for almost 10 years and I still drum a lot!)

I started making music on fruity loops we I was 14 years old. It all started for me when my dad gave me the software. Even though my music then sounded really bad I was still proud that I made my own music haha. Thats how I got motivated and I just kept going!

Tell us about your inspiration

One of the hardest things in producing music is finding inspiration. I got some nice tips for every producer haha! I like to go outside to find inspiration. I love walking in the woods and go to a park to just chill out and give my head some rest.

And it really works! My phone is full of recorded melody’s I had to sing because i was outside.

How did you start using FL Studio & what does it mean to your productions?

As I said my dad gave me fl studio and I still love it. I love the workflow in it, I can work some idea’s out really fast and for creative people its so nice. I had to learn different software because of some studio’s but I don’t like the workflow in it as much as Fruity loops. All my tracks are made in FL Studio and I still learn a lot from it.

Tell us about your production environment & toys?

My studio is a real ”bedroom studio” I love it. I can walk out of my bed to work on music haha! It’s really basic (PC, Dynaudio BM50 monitors, a soundcard and a midi keyboard) I’m planning to build it bigger in the winter.
