Today I’d like to alert you to a great video about Audio Myths posted on YouTube by Ethan Winer (below left) of RealTraps (makers of sound control solutions for studios). Ethan & co-presenters cover such issues as placebo effects in audio, loudness vs quality, 'scam' equipment, dithering, expensive vs cheap soundcards and more...oh yes it's about 58 minutes long, so get the popcorn out :)
Of particular interest to many home producers will be the section on Cheap vs Expensive soundcards, that starts at 41m:18s if you want to jump to it. Surely you need to drop $2000 on a 'professional' audio inerface if you want quality audio recordings, right?
